I so completely ripped something off from Larry David. "I may hate myself, but not because of that." Either that or some similar construction came from an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I think it's from the episode where one of his tribe dresses him down in public because he likes Wagner or something. (I guess acceptable composers are in the pamphlet.) The guy says, "How come you like Wagner? You must hate yourself!" (Or something similar.)
