The object of the game is to utter as few syllables as possible in stating a defense of oneself or one's actions. The most number of points is won for a single-syllable dismissal. A two-syllable dismissal gets the next highest number of points, etc.
I like to give credit where credit is due. The award goes to Dick Cheney for his elegant one-syllable dismissal, "So?" It achieves some metaphysical beauty of simplicity and dismissiveness. I will appropriate it for my own uses.
"Chris, you have to pay taxes."
"So?"
The second highest point-scoring dismissal is this entry, "Pish posh." It is two thin syllables that, through some transcendent alliterative symmetry, wrap a veritable cloak of contempt around any complaint that may come your way. It's magic!
"Chris, you can't establish a military dictatorship."
"Pish posh."
Can anyone think up the next highest point-scoring entry, a three-syllable dismissal?
